About Coastline Metal Finishing

About Coastline Metal Finishing

Phil Viljoen founded Coastline Metal Finishing in 1987 along with partners Joe Padilla and Ron Covey. Phil wanted a company that represented the values and professionalism that he felt were important to see in a metal finishing business.  Each partner brought their own individual expertise in areas of the metal finishing business that would be a benefit and is Coastline Metal Finishing today.

In the early years of the company, gaining approvals by government and military contractors required a solid track record producing this type of work over a period of time, the company made a strategic decision to concentrate on the industries focusing on new technologies. Even though these manufacturing segments have stricter, more exacting methods, they did not require the same approval process prior to granting contracts. The ability to meet or exceed stricter requirements with the high degree of quality  and individualized attention demanded by high-tech industries established the company’s  superior reputation.  Eventually, success in these niche industries allowed the company to acquire a successful track record needed to obtain the government and military contracts that followed within a few short years. Under the leadership of management a priority was to have a positive attitude and to go the extra mile in solving customer problems that might arise during the course of business with options that would lead to a beneficial outcome for the customer and the company.
